You have to be kidding me – Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize

October 9, 2009

“For his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

The specific issue the committee cited was his efforts to reduce the world’s nuclear arsenals. There are two things I don’t understand about that however-

1. Other than his speech to the UN his efforts so far have consisted of caving to North Korea and Iran. How does that make the world safer?

2. The deadline for nominations was 12 days into his presidency. At that point he hadn’t done anything other than locate the bathrooms in the White House and issue an ill-conceived order to close Guantanamo Bay.

Why does this prize even have credibility anymore?

Think of him as Mini-Yasser Arafat, and it all makes sense.

Naw bro, even that rat-bastard Arafat (may he rot in Hell) did something that the paste-eating, booger-rolling special ed class that is the Nobel Prize committee thought that it had merit.

      This one, not so much…..

Heck, I should get one just for thinking that I’ll maybe, someday, build a faster than light engine that will take us to the stars and beyond.
